Hilton Head, Charleston South Carolina

Hilton Head Island.  A room with a view!
 A seafood shack in Bluffton.
Look at that pile of oyster shells!
The drive up to Boone Hall plantation.  The oak trees are covered in spanish moss.
It is the oldest working plantation in South Carolina.
A re-inactment at the slave quarters.
This oak tree is 1,000 years old.  The oak tree, not the woman.
A sunflower in the garden at the plantation.
A slave shack in the fields.
We went on a carriage tour of Charleston.
 Charleston, South Carolina
Sweet grass baskets are handmade and they are everywhere.
A typical home in Charleston.  The porches face the water and are generally on the side of the house.
There is a lot of iron work, especially in the french quarter.
A 25,000 square foot home built by a carpet bagger after the Civil War.
This home was a wedding present to the daughter of a wealthy Charlestonian.
 The fashion district.
 A performing arts theatre.
Churches everywhere.  In this churches grave yard you must be a true Charlestonian to be buried there.

Fort Sumpter, where the first shots were fired in the Civil War and a working fort through World War II.
